Author lives in Chicago, and many of the stories are set there, so the collection should have good regional appeal. One of the stories in the collection, «The Regular» was nominated by Charles D'Ambrosio as the winner of the Emerging Writers Network Short Story Competition. Every story in the collection is about some aspect of performing, or performance, with a particular emphasis on music. Two of the stories feature celebrities; Abe Vigoda is the main character in one of the stories, so the book should appeal to Abe's legion of fans. REM (the band) is featured in another story.
