Johns (Great Modern Masters)

Focusing on the American, Jasper Johns (b 1930), who is associated with the Abstract Expressionist and Pop movements, this is one of a series of illustrated monographs which offer introductions to modern art and artists. Each book presents a profile of the artist and analysis of his distinctive style. Johns continually pushed back the boundaries of conventional expectations about art. The book presents more than 70 of his works (which include iconic images of targets and flags), from his sculptural reliefs and casts of the early 1950s to the assemblages of the 1960s and the paintings of recents years.
