The Annunciation Cathedral

For more than five centuries, the golden cupolas of the Annunciation Cathedral have shone on the south slope of Borovitsky Hill. The Annunciation Cathedral was built and rebuilt over the course of several centuries. The original building was erected in the second half of the fourteenth century. It was reconstructed in 1416, when the white stoned ground floor was strengthened and expanded. During the reign of Grand Prince Ivan III (1462-1505), the cathedral was taken apart and rebuilt from brick.
